Indonesia has the world’s third-largest tropical peatlands which contributes to the achievement of its NDC. However, some challenges remain on managing the ecosystem sustainably. Since 2020, Improving the Management of Peatlands and the Capacities of Stakeholders in Indonesia (Peat-IMPACTS) project was implemented to address those issues. Peat-IMPACTS focus on strengthening peat landscape governance, capacity of farmers to produce sustainable supply chains, fair and effective climate governance through co-investments, and knowledge on peat restoration and management practices that embraces options by context. This session presents Peat IMPACTS’ results and its synergy with current effort of Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) Indonesia, and International Tropical Peatland Centre (ITPC).
