Ruandha Agung Sugardiman obtained a PhD degree from Wageningen University of Research, the Netherlands with a thesis entitled “Spaceborne Radar Monitoring of Forest Fires and Forest Cover Change: A case study in Kalimantan”. This degree and capacity brought him to a strategic job in the government as Director of Inventory and Monitoring of Forest Resources if the Ministry of Forestry until 2014.

He is also an executive in Indonesian Partnership for Market Readiness since 2017, a capacity building program to support climate change mitigation action in developing countries through effective use of market-based instruments.
