  • Erin Swails supports improvement of Indonesia's REDD+ Forest Reference Emission Level by updating existing peatland emission factors through literature review and process based modeling. Had led the technical design of various projects centered on climate change mitigation in the agriculture, forestry, and other land use (AFOLU) sector and assisted in the development of measurement and monitoring systems for national scale programs aimed at reducing emissions from forests (REDD+). She was involved in projects focusing on afforestation/reforestation (A/R) as well as avoided deforestation and avoided peat emissions projects. Ms. Swails led the development of the second A/R project to be registered under the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS). She co-authored an avoided peat emissions methodology approved under the VCS.
